Mind Your Mindset
Mindset Matters.
There! I said it!
God's word says in Proverbs that as a man thinketh, so he is (Proverbs 23:7).
I used to think that focusing on "mindset" was "woo woo," New Age-y, and generally kind of evil. My whole life was based on achievement. Can you relate?
But no more.
Now I know that mindset is the key to success! Honestly, I can't believe that it took me 36 years to get this concept, but hey, better late than never!
What you think you can achieve, you can achieve. And where you think you'll fail, you'll fail. It's harsh but true.
“Whether you think you can or you can’t you’re right.”
I talk to a lot of women who feel stuck. They think that because they chose a certain career path, they have to see it through to the bitter end. It breaks my heart to see brilliant women who just aren't a fit for the corporate lifestyle trying to stifle their spark to fit in with that world.
I know that world all too well.
For seven years, I labored in law, feeling totally out of place in the male-dominated, shark-tank atmosphere. By the grace of God, I found a place in a small, boutique law firm nearly a year ago. Now I get to practice law AND pursue my passion for helping other women expand their unique skills and talents into the marketplace.
What you believe you can achieve can be yours.
All it took for me to live the life I desired was to decide that it was possible for me, and then TAKE ACTION to make my dreams into reality.
It wasn't always comfortable.
I remember my first coach telling me to start a website. "That's flipping crazy!" I thought. It seemed extraordinarily egotistical to make a website with my name on it. GASP!!! People would not be comfortable. People might think I was uppity. People would judge.
But my desire to change became greater than my desire to stay safe. I saw the possibility!
So, I hired my first designer and set out to create a personal brand that would inspire, motivate, and instruct. It wasn't always pretty. (My first coach told me to hide my initial website because it was that embarrassing).
But over the past 2.5 years, through faith and determination, and of course through God's grace, my business has flourished. Now I get to work with the most AMAZING women, crafting copy and coaching them to live in their zones of genius.
So what's your dream?
Take a few minutes today to get out a piece of paper and write out what your perfect day would look like. Who do you wake up next to? What do you eat? Where do you live? Where do you go? Visualize yourself walking through that perfect day in crystal clear detail.
Now, reverse engineer that perfect day!
Know that what you envisioned can be yours, by taking daily consistent action in the direction of your dreams. Know you want to spend half the day playing with your hubby and kids? Okay, great! Now you need to create a business that gives you a large amount of time freedom. This is totally possible - most of my best friends have done this for themselves, and this is what I help my own clients do.
Keep at it.
It won't always be easy to take the necessary actions to build a life that you'll love living, but I can promise you that it will be worth it. If there's a dream in your heart, it's there for a reason. Don't stop pursuing it.
And if you need support along the way, I'm here for you! Apply for your free discovery session right here, and let's have a conversation about moving your dream into reality.
Cheering you on,
P.S. You don't have to go it alone. One of the best things I ever did was to hire my first business coach. More than the tools and strategies she gave me to build my business, she helped me see what was possible. I'd love to show you what's possible, too!
